WHAT'S NEW???… This WEBSITE Renovation!
It's been over 6 YEARS since I've updated this website. There are many reasons for this. The above photo is a screen shot of what it looked like prior to this new renovation. I kind of liked the antique, warm, custom look & feel of it. I made it on a Mac with their iWeb software. I poured my heart & soul into it. Any of you who have had the pleasure/misfortune(?) of knowing me personally, know that I'm a romantic at heart. I live in the past. I don't generally embrace change. But as much as I like living in the past, I know that the world keeps moving forward into the future whether I like it or not… with or without me.
Hence the 8+ years delay. Apple no longer supports the iWeb software I used to produce the site. If I was going to keep the website going, it meant finding software compatible with my MacBook to publish it. Besides that, the website took an immense amount of time to maintain. I was working and simply didn't have the time, energy and extra resources needed…
But life goes on, and things change. GOD is good. I'm basically retired. We now have 3 wonderful grandchildren to keep us busy, but I'm going to try to carve out some time to update this website and keep it running.
One of the newest challenges in software development I've found is the issue of making the website "responsive"…. meaning it will display uniquely/correctly across a variety of devices (mobile devices, tablets, personal computers) with their various web browsers. The software I've found - RapidWeaver 8 - is built to accommodate various platforms and be "responsive." While this new update may not be as "warm & fuzzy" as the old site, hopefully it will function with more fluidity across a variety of platforms.
